NECTAR is the Northwestern MRSEC DaTA Retrieval that links data, software, and supporting information appearing in scholarly publications produced under the support of the National Science Foundation Materials Research Science and Engineering (MRSEC) program. MRSEC researchers follow best practices aligned with FAIR data (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) and research software principles. NECTAR stewards the free availability of digital data supporting published work without the need for requests to the MRSEC investigators and provides measures of scholarship impact of the digital resources beyond traditional metrics.
